Menno Travel Service opened their first office in Akron Pennsylvania in 1947 as the travel department of the relief organization called Mennonite Central Committee. Product development efforts have yielded special global agreements with the world's finest airlines. Over fifty years of creating travel products has produced a solid base of knowledge with which RAPTIM serves those who serve the world. RAPTIM started operations after World War II. Founded by, and under the governance of religious institutes for the specific purpose of accommodating the changing needs of missionaries as well as church and development aid workers, the name RAPTIM has become synonymous with missionary travel. We are very proud to say that in 2005 Menno Travel Service (Canada) Ltd. became a RAPTIM Company. As we are located on the British Columbia / Washington State border, we maintain mailing addresses in both locations. Menno Travel Service (Canada) Ltd. opened this office in 1971. Today, the Menno Travel Service offices are limited companies in each country where they exist, though still maintaining ties with other Menno Travel Service offices. Menno Travel Service has since operated offices in England, Kenya, Congo, Paraguay, Israel, Lebanon, Holland, the U.S.A. and Canada. This travel department made travel arrangements for people working with postwar relief and service work through M.C.C. and other church organizations. These efforts result in significant savings on travel budget
